Hi there, music lovers…LIVE music lovers!
New Restoration Uploaded
As promised the other day, the latest show is now up on the site! This is a stereo FM recording of The Go-Go’s out on tour in support of their first album (Beauty And The Beat) that had just been released. Once I removed the voiceovers and fixed a couple of things, I spent a day or 2 polishing it up and it now sounds much more clear and powerful. Well worth a listen, they were clearly a good live act!
You can go straight to the site page by clicking on the graphic below, where you can read more about it, what I did to it - and download or stream it for free, of course, as 1 single 320kbps MP3:
If you like it, and know others who might also be interested - please do share the website link with them. Or this newsletter!
As always, if anyone wants separated MP3s or FLACs of this (or any other) gig on the site, details are on the page for that too.
Past Shows
Recently I’ve added to these newsletters links to a couple of older shows and they seem to have generated a bit of interest, so I thought it might be worth posting up a couple more each time I write - older shows that might have escaped your attention, especially if you’re relatively new to the site.
In each case, just click on the image to go to the site page and check it out. Something a bit different each time, so here’s a couple for you…
First, a lovely gig by Simon and Garfunkel from 1966! As you can see, my graphics were even more rudimentary than they are now…
Originally restored in 2016, I did this again a few years later and it sounds…a really nice period piece. Featuring plenty of chat in between songs, this is well worth a listen. And if you enjoy this, make sure you check out the other S & G show on the site from 1968!
And second, Tears For Fears in a restored stereo FM broadcast from 1983, featuring mostly songs from The Hurting, their classic first album. Again, originally done in 2016, this got a reworking in 2018 which much improved the quality once again! Well worth downloading if you haven’t already.
That’s all for this time. This latest show is show 199. What’s coming up for 200?? I actually have no idea but I suppose it should be quite special! I’ll see what I can do…
I hope you find something to listen to from these. Until next time…have a great week!
Cheers!
Phil
