Hi all
The next restoration is now uploaded - The Clash, from The Agora in Cleveland Ohio from their very first tour of the USA in 1979. I’m always left with an earworm in my head I can’t shift after working on these shows - with THIS show, I have to say I’m So Bored With The USA has been in my head a lot this week…great song to start the set with.
I’m pretty sure this was originally recorded for FM radio - after restoration and remastering I have to say this is a great sounding clear stereo recording now, and very powerful! You can go straight to the site page by clicking on the graphic, where you can read more about the recording, what I did to it - and download or stream it for free, of course, as 1 single 320kbps MP3:
On This Day…(well nearly)
Just to demonstrate I try and cover many different genres on Live and Loud!, 7 years ago yesterday I uploaded this great restored show from Simon and Garfunkel from 1966. A really nice sounding live recording. I revisited this show in 2019 and restored it all over again for extra sounding good-ness (or something). Click on the image to check this one out if you wish.
Other News
Following the attempted copyright takedown last month, all NEW shows will be uploaded to my new cloud storage provider - thanks again to everyone who took the time to test that out for me last month. One benefit of the new provider is they facilitate streaming - so you can either download a show or stream, or both, whichever suits you best. The other shows taken down recently will be moved there too at some point - I'll update you when that happens. Existing shows will be left where they are for the time being.
I have another batch of Elton John gigs to do shortly for a client - most have been requests to grab a gig on YouTube and make it sound better. And I can, so I do. Also, if you missed the last newsletter, the redone gig by The Ramones gig was uploaded a few days ago and that is also on the new server, so can be streamed or downloaded. More on that HERE.
I’ll be getting on with the next new restoration for the site asap. I’m not sure what that might be yet but as soon as I know, you will know. Well, nearly...
As always, if anyone has any requests, comment below, or send it over via email if you can’t comment on Substack.
Until next time…enjoy your weekend.
Cheers!
Phil
